1st Annual "Put your money where your mouth is" All ages Skateboarding contest. April 17, 2004
The game
of skate was Amazing. Its not like a best trick contest throwing yourself
down a flight of stairs or a rail. A game of skate for $250 will bring
out the real skills. The way the game of skate worked was skaters were split into groups of three. Who ever won the coin toss went first. If the skater made the trick the others had to make the same trick or they received a letter. If the first skater missed the trick, it was the next skaters turn at a trick and so on. Every time you miss a trick the other skater landed you receive a letter. If you missed enough tricks and spelled out the word "Skate" your out of the game. All three skaters skated until there was only one left. The skater remaining of the three moved on to the next round. The last skater remaining wins the game of skate. A few people stood out the whole day Kyle Isles, Kevin Coakley, Jonathan Cruz. A few people just came for the Game of skate, the heavy hitters Bob Levoy, Nick Heidenreich, Stickly business. It came down these skaters at the end Bob Levoy, Fernando Soares, Kevin Coakley and Nick Heidenreich. It would take days to go over every thing they threw down, to make it short these guys would have done well in Eric Kostons $10,000 Game of Skate held in San Diego about 2 years ago. It came down to two amazing skaters Nick Heidenreich and Kevin Coakley. It all Came down to the last letter, it was pretty intense. The man on top that day was Nick Heidenreich. Congradulations Nick $250 winner and well deserved. See you at Pierfest May 8 and 9 where the next round of Skate is going to take place. Jay Turner Game of Skate $250
